Benny Latino (Owner)

Benny Latino has scouted for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and New York Mets. Currently, he is scouting for the Miami Marlins. He's signed Reid Brignac, Robert Carson, Joey Gathright, Alonzo Harris, Rhyne Hughes, Toe Nash, Edgar Ramirez and Josh Stinson.

TONY SALIM (OWNER)

Salim is currently the Dean of students, Athletic Director, and Head baseball coach at Oak Forest Academy in Amite, La.  Before arriving at OFA, Tony spent six years as the Head Baseball coach at Springfield High School.  There, Salim's teams posted the school's first winning record, first tournament championship, first playoff appearance and wins.  7 of his former players went on the play college baseball.  Salim also worked with Bossier Parish CC and Pearl River CC as an assistant coach under Jay Artigues.  Both schools set school win records while Salim was assisting.  Pearl River went on to win a state championship and World Series birth.

JAY ARTIGUES (OWNER)

Prior to becoming the 15th head baseball coach in Southeastern’s history, Artigues paved the way for success for a number of schools, including Pearl River Community College, Bossier Parish Community, Spring Hill College, St. Louis Catholic High School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and UNO. After a successful eight-season stint as Southeastern Louisiana University’s head baseball coach, Jay Artigues was named the school’s Director of Athletics on October 14, 2013. In his first year on the job, he presided over arguably the greatest athletic year in Southeastern history. The Lions and Lady Lions brought home five conference championships, the most the school has ever won in a single year. Jay and his wife Rachel are the parents of two sons, Christopher “Champ” and Casey.

OLIVIA MARCEAUX (GENERAL MANAGER AND DANCE COORDINATOR)

I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2015 with my BA in marketing. While at SLU, I danced for the nationally ranked Lionette dance team, and I served as captain for 2 years. In addition to running the Sportsplex, I currently teach at Lemoine Academy of Dance, Laurie Maffei's Danceworks, and hold the position of head coach of the St. Thomas Aquinas Starlette dance team, who are also nationally recognized. Kevin Carr (Director of baseball)

Kevin Carr is the Director of Baseball at the Plex. He played one season of professional baseball and is still currently pursuing professional baseball. Kevin made 2nd team All Louisiana in 2015, 1st team All Southland Conference for SLU in 2015, and 1st Team All State D2 Junior College in Arizona. He was a 2 year starter at Mesa Community College in Arizona and also a 2 year starter for Southeastern Louisiana University.

WAYNE NEW (CHEER/TUMBLING DIRECTOR)

I cheered at Southeastern Louisiana University from 2001-2003. I've coached at SLU since 2011, and I've coached numerous high school and recreational teams. I've been responsible for over 60 national championship routines for different companies. I have the knowledge and experience to teach, spot, and coach tumbling in gymnastic levels 1-10.

RICHARD LETULLE (Primary D1 INSTRUCTOR)

I've worked with athletes from various sports, all ranging from ages 7-18.  I understand and instill proper technique when coaching Olympic lifts, and I help my athletes achieve their overall fitness goals by properly coaching them through speed, agility, and conditioning drills. In 5 years, I plan on obtaining a Masters degree and continuing to work with athletes.

KRISTY SALTAFORMAGGIO (SOFTBALL INSTRUCTOR)

My name is Kristy Saltaformaggio, I was born and raised in Metairie, LA .  I graduated from Cabrini High School in New Orleans, LA in May 2000.  I played volleyball, basketball, and softball all four years while maintaining a 3.8 GPA.   I was an All-state selection for volleyball and softball.  I attended and played softball at Southeastern Louisiana University, and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Science with a concentration in Athletic Training in May 2006 and went back to get certification in education.

I'm State and National Board certified in Athletic Training, I been athletic training and personal training since 2004.  I have been the assistant athletic trainer and assistant softball coach at Denham Springs High School from 2007- present.  I was offered a teaching job,  assistant volleyball, Head softball, and Head Athletic Trainer position at Walker High School from 2009-2010, was great opportunity , ended softball season with a record of 23-8. While coaching at Denham High School, we made it to the state tournament 7 times, and within those 7 years we were state runner ups twice , semi-finalists 3 times and quarter-finalists 2 times. Training and Coaching are my two passions, I truly believe God has blessed me with these gifts to go help  others and be a blessing to them. I want to make a difference in those lives I touch, and I want to Inspire children to never give up on their goals and dreams.

Hearrt Bryan (CHEER/TUMBLING instructor)

I currently cheer at Southeastern Louisiana University, and helped placed third at UCA college nationals in 2016! A I also work for NCA (National Cheerleaders Association) over the summer! I briefly coached a level 1 and 2 all star team. Throughout high school I cheered at Belle Chasse all four years. During that time I won two NCA National Game-Time titles and two UCA National titles! I enjoy coaching young athletes with an interest in cheer.

LOGAN LAMARCA (PITCHING/BASEBALL INSTRUCTOR)

I was a 2012 Saint Thomas Aquinas graduate. I was a 2 time 1st team all-district member. I was a pitcher at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. At my time there, I pitched in the Division 3 College World Series. Currently I am the pitching coach for the state champion Saint Thomas Aquinas baseball team. I specialize in pitching lessons from age 8 and up. I look to develop pitches and clean up the throwing motion. I also will help to improve pitch velocity and consistency around the strike zone

Logan LaMarca (Pitching/baseball instructor)

Kennon Menard (BASEBALL INSTRUCTOR)

Kennon was a 3 year starting shortstop at southeastern. Which he earned All conference honorable mention 2015. 2015 he appeared in 52 games starting 46 of them and batted 313. 2014 appeared in 46 games started 42 games as a freshmen. In high school he was Two-time All-State letter and three-time All-District performer for Tuerlings Catholic H.S. … hit .474 as a senior and named a Rawlings High School All-American (honorable mention) … member of Teurlings' 2012, 2010 state championship teams.

2 years experience as a private instructor.
Missed 1 year of playing time because of an arm injury, but during that time, I learned a tremendous amount about arm care, arm strength, and prevention of arm injuries.
I have knowledge and experience in the mechanics and fundamentals of hitting, pitching, catching, and mental aspects of baseball.

Maddie Kresevic (soccer INSTRUCTOR)

Maddie Kresevic has been playing competitively since 1st grade, and she's played in the National League for 6 years. Currently a junior at SLU, she plays defense, but came into college as a center mid/ outside forward, so she's very comfortable on both sides of the ball. Last year, she was an honorable mention selection for the Southland Defensive Player of the Week award  for the week ending Aug. 30 after helping the Lady Lions allow just one goal versus Arkansas State and ULM. In 2015, she received honorable mention All-Southland Conference recognition after scoring a goal and recording three assists and five point. She scored the game-winning goal in the 71st minute in a 1-0 win at McNeese State and had two assists in 5-0 win over Southern! Maddie also had an assist in a 2-1 win at Nicholls State in regular season finale. She was twice honored as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week, earning the honor for the weeks of Sept. 8 and 22. In 2014, she played in all 20 matches!! In high school, Maddie was named an All-State and All-District performer at Solon High School. She was a two-time all-conference performer, and led her team to two conference championships and a district title. She was the team’s leading scorer in each of her final two seasons, scoring 80 career goals. She helped club team – Cleveland United – to national championship as well.  She has coached rec teams, specific to ages 5-11.
